I wonder it's always been like this or if we're just more aware of both the horrible and the wonderful in the world. It seems like things are getting worse...and coming to a head. *sigh*

We think it's always been like this -- and actually, worse in the past! -- but yes, with technology the way it is, it's easier to be more aware. Which is a hard but good thing, because it allows us to confront and combat the ugliness!
